We’re looking for junior software engineers from all backgrounds to join our product-based squads. You might be recent university graduate or alumni of a coding bootcamp, inline with Zuto’s growth we are looking to invest in our future by taking on a number of entry level positions.

Role responsibilities

At Zuto, our software engineers are responsible for all aspects of the product they work on – from ideation through to deployment and maintenance.
We work in small agile squads, with methodologies and practices decided by the squad themselves. Each squad owns the domain and services that it works on.
We have built an experimental culture, following a build, measure and learn approach to get quick feedback and deliver valuable increments.
Our technical stack is comprised mostly of C# dotnet core microservices, running on docker in an ECS cluster in AWS. We use React for the interactive elements on our websites and have a bespoke CRM system built with WPF that is used by the staff in our contact centre. Our infrastructure is described through code and pipelined through our continuous delivery platform (powered by GoCD) along with all our other deployments.

Experience, skills and qualifications required

• Degree in Computer Science, completed coding bootcamp or related field or vocational equivalent
• Very comfortable using C# dotnet core to create webservices.
• Experience of frontend web technologies such as Javascript.

Preferred

• Understanding of cloud computing principles – perhaps you have been playing about with the free tiers on AWS / GCP?
• A keen interest in building quality products that serve the needs of their customers.
• Understanding of good quality code, including how to implement design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Self-starter with willingness to continually learn. We have a great internal training team who will be on standby to support you in your journey.
• Willingness to get involved in collaborative programming techniques such as pairing or mobbing.
Experience and Behaviors
• Willingness to get involved in collaborative programming techniques such as pairing or mobbing.
• Good understanding of developing REST APIs and related best practise in developing high scale web systems.
• Entrepreneurial self-starter who is always looking for a better way. You will be working in a modern agile environment and we are always looking for ways to improve and push ourselves.
