The Role
As a Recoveries Specialist, you will be responsible for recovering outstanding balances from dealerships following vehicle rejections or unwind requests. This role is critical in protecting lender funds, maintaining strong dealer relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of cases requiring repayment from dealerships after vehicle returns/rejections.
Review documentation (inspection reports, lender instructions, invoices) to validate refund requests.
Secure timely payment of outstanding balances in line with lender agreements and internal SLAs.
Escalate cases appropriately where payment delays or disputes occur.
Maintain accurate, detailed case records for audit and compliance purposes.
Work collaboratively with internal teams such as Customer Care, Underwriting, and Finance.
Support process improvements to streamline communications and enhance dealer accountability.
What you'll need:
We’re looking for someone who is:
Confident and assertive when dealing with dealerships and third parties.
Excellent at negotiation, especially around mileage deductions and disputed charges.
Organised, able to manage multiple live cases and deadlines.
Solution focused
Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
Professional and diplomatic, able to maintain positive working relationships even during challenging conversations.
Familiar with finance, automotive, or regulated environments (desirable but not essential).
Experienced in debt recovery, collections, or similar roles (preferred).
